South Korea defeated Japan's footballers 1:0 in the tournament final.

After the final whistle, the Koreans fell to the ground and cried out of joy. Such a victory means that these footballers will not have to serve in the South Korean military for two years.

As usual, most footballers in this tournament are young. Among the winners were players belonging to Newcastle, Swansea City, Tottenham, and Brentford clubs.

The decisive goal was scored by Ji-sung Park.
