The Lithuanian basketball team will face an important battle in the world championship qualifiers against Italy today, and the team's coach Rimas Kurtinaitis spoke with the media about the football championship as well.
The veteran was asked if he is watching this football event. He singled out one conspiracy theory.
R. Kurtinaitis replied: "I can devise such a theory – I think that the entire world championship is going in that direction, judging from the Croatian matches, that somehow – here from such conspiracy theories – they want to set up Messi against Ronaldo in the final. Portugal against Argentina. And everything is orchestrated so that it all falls into place for now.
Well, it will be interesting, but overall it is good football. And those second-tier teams that we underestimated before the championship, they are all fighting. I think it’s a championship of good-level football."
The legendary strategist also revealed which team he supports.
"I have always been for the Brazilians," said the Lithuanian team coach.
