The England team faced all difficulties and advanced to the World Cup round of 16.

In the first knockout stage, Thomas Tuchel's students defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 2:1.

In the 7th minute, the DR Congo players surged ahead first. Brian Cipanga accurately struck past Jordan Pickford.

Still in the first half, the "Three Lions" had very dangerous chances to equalize, but the opponent's goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi Nzau was impenetrable. Jude Bellingham's headers were saved.

After the break, the African representatives were closing in on a sensational victory. However, in the 75th minute, Harry Kane restored the "status quo."

In the 86th minute, the Bayern Munich star led the English team ahead and secured the victory.

In the last minute, Yoane Wissa had a chance to force extra time, but the forward's penalty kick was inaccurate.

England will face the Mexican national team in the round of 16. The match will take place at the legendary "Azteca" stadium.
