The honor of representing his country at the 2026 World Cup will go to 38-year-old Brazilian Weverton, who guards the goal for Grêmio in Brazil's Serie A league.

Weverton found out about the call-up while at home with his family.

In his joy, the veteran even fainted. However, the fainting seemed so natural that family members didn’t notice it for at least a minute. They were celebrating and thought he was lying on the ground willingly.
