Referees will gain more authority to show red cards and send players to the dressing room.

This will happen if the referee notices a player discussing with an opponent who has covered their mouth with a shirt or hand.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino also instructed that players who protest by temporarily leaving the field in response to a referee's decision should be sent off.
