The mayor of Vilnius, Valdas Benkunskas, hopes that in the coming years the capital will finally have a stadium of European standards.
On his social media account, the politician shared the latest construction photos.
"The national stadium in Vilnius is clearly rising every day! 45% of all prefabricated concrete structures have already been installed - that is 2,500 elements out of the planned 5,500. Columns are being erected, stands are being formed, walls, stairs, and floors are being installed.
Construction work is in full swing at the site: tower cranes and mobile cranes are working, concrete is being poured, earthworks are taking place, and water supply and sewage networks are being laid. This is consistent progress in a project that Vilnius has been waiting for many years,” wrote the mayor.
