Ousmane Dembele won his first career Ballon d'Or award on Monday.

The 28-year-old Frenchman was the leader of Paris Saint-Germain last season and not only triumphed in the French championship but also won the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

It was O. Dembele who was named as the main contender for the golden ball before the elections.

One of the greatest footballers of all time, Lionel Messi, also congratulated his former teammate from Barcelona.
