The hosts' goal was scored by Michael Olise with an impressive penalty, while the Italians responded with a precise shot from Alessandro Bastoni.
After these matches, the French remained at the top of League A with 7 points.
M. Olise scored his second penalty goal for the French national team. He scored his first on March 23, 2025, against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals.
According to "Opta" data, the Frenchman became only the third player since 2000 to score two penalty goals for his national team.
