Spain advanced to the World Cup semifinals.

The European champions defeated the Belgium national team 2:1 after a dramatic duel.

In the 30th minute, Fabian Ruiz put the Spaniards ahead. He replaced Barcelona talent Pedri in the starting eleven for this match.

Before halftime, Charles de Ketelaere equalized the score - Spain's goalkeeper Unai Simon could not withstand the precise header.

After the hydration break, in the 71st minute, Thibaut Courtois was substituted, and he was replaced in goal by Manchester United's goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

In the 86th minute, Mikel Merino entered the field, and in the crucial goal, two players who appeared on the pitch only after the substitution played key roles. S. Lammens could not withstand the shot from Pau Cubarsi, and Merino, rushing to the ball, secured the second consecutive victory for Spain.

Spain will play against the France national team in the World Cup semifinals.
