This week, Lithuanian champion "Kauno Žalgiris" triumphed in Kosovo and advanced to the second UEFA Champions League qualifying round.

Željko Sopić's team defeated "Drita" 3:2 in Pristina and won the tough series with a score of 4:3.

After the match, it was calculated that the Kaunas team would surpass the earnings of Kaunas "Žalgiris" basketball team in future UEFA tournaments.

In the previous EuroLeague season, the team coached by Tomas Masiulis received a €1.06 million bonus, while the football club is already guaranteed to receive at least €1.45 million.

This amount could still increase significantly if the team manages to break into, for example, the Conference League group stage (at least €3 million).
