"Barcelona" team's dream newcomer Julián Álvarez made a move that delighted the Catalans.

Spanish media report that the Argentine did not wish to extend his contract with Madrid "Atlético" club.

A new contract would have guaranteed him a salary of 10 million euros per season.

Indeed, now that the player wishes to move to the Barcelona team, the transfer will not be easily executed – the star's release clause will still amount to at least 150 million euros.

The current J. Álvarez's contract with "Atlético" will remain in effect for another four years.
