The Vatican has elected one of the world's most important people – the new pope. He is American Robert Francis Prevost, who will now be known as Leo XIV (the fourteenth).

According to the newspaper "Il Tempo," the new pope supports the football club "AS Roma."

Despite his nationality, he has not lived in the United States since 1985. After 1985, he spent thirteen years in Peru, and then moved to Rome.

R. Francis Prevost was not among the favorites to become the new pope.
