The White House and United States President Donald Trump appear to be able to influence FIFA decisions related to football on the field.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the White House inquired with FIFA President Gianni Infantino about reviewing Folarin Balogun's red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
FIFA claims that it was unrelated, and the White House could not influence the decision to suspend F. Balogun's disqualification.
The suspended disqualification of the US leader was publicly celebrated by Donald Trump and the White House on social media.
Donald Trump wrote: "Thank you FIFA for doing what is right and rescinding a great injustice!"
The Belgian Football Federation is considering appealing this decision.
