Football fans heard great news.

FIFA officially abandoned plans to establish the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) commercial company.

This way, the organization's president Gianni Infantino would have been able to sell shares of prestigious tournaments to private investors.

Resistance from UEFA, CONCACAF, and the Asian Football Confederation ultimately forced FIFA to withdraw this proposal.

FIFA's statement claimed that it would no longer pursue this proposal, as it caused disagreements that no longer aligned with the organization's goal of uniting football.

This decision does not affect plans to expand the 2030 FIFA World Cup to 64 teams.
