Passions are running high in the Portugal national team.
After Cristiano Ronaldo unexpectedly left the national team camp in Copenhagen, 41-year-old football star's sister Elma Aveiro made a public statement.
On social media, she did not hold back criticism of the Portuguese media and fans, who, in her opinion, do not show enough respect for the legendary forward.
E. Aveiro emphasized that the Portuguese forget too quickly everything that C. Ronaldo has done for his national team over more than two decades.
"CR7 deserves more respect. The national team needed more structure, and Portuguese journalism – more competence and less speculation.
Speaking of the Portuguese... Well, they don’t deserve to be the best in any field.
We are envious, contemptuous, ignorant, and we deserve to return to that mediocrity in football that we were in before CR7.
Thank you for everything, CR7! You deserve more!” – wrote E. Aveiro.
C. Ronaldo's future in the Portugal national team currently raises many questions.
It has been reported that after a conflict with the new national team coach Jorge Jesus, the forward left the team's camp in Copenhagen and went on vacation to Portugal.
It is possible that this situation may bring closer the end of the national team career of one of the most famous Portuguese footballers of all time.
