Cristiano Ronaldo together with the Portugal national team has completed their journey in the World Football Championship.

The Portuguese lost 0:1 to Spain in the round of 16 and will no longer continue the fight for the title.

C. Ronaldo had previously announced that this was his last World Championship, which means that this Portuguese legend will remain without this prestigious trophy.

After the defeat, the captain of the Portugal national team stated that his team played solid matches.

"We played well. Of course, we could have done something better, but Spain is one of the best teams in the world. I believe they will play in the final or be very close to it.

I am very sad about the elimination, but I gave it my all. I leave the World Championship with a clear conscience; sometimes you win and sometimes you have to lose.

This was my last World Championship. Life doesn’t stop; I will have more time with my family.

With this team, I won three titles. There were no titles at all before me. I can only be proud of these achievements,” said C. Ronaldo.
