One of the most famous footballers of this century, Neymar, hangs up his football boots in international football.
After losing in the World Cup round of 16 against Norway, the Santos forward announced his retirement from the national team.
"I tried and tried. It all started here, at the Met Life Stadium, and it will also end here. Now it really is the end," said the 34-year-old veteran.
Neymar did not compete for either the Copa America title or the World Cup with the Brazilian national team. His biggest achievement was in 2013, when he managed to win the Confederations Cup, and the gold medal won at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.
In 130 matches for the national team, Neymar scored 80 goals.
