At home, Tottenham drew 2:2 with Brighton after a painful goal from Georginio Rutter in the fifth minute of added time.

Returning to the squad, James Maddison and the standout Xavi Simons during the match tried to maintain team spirit with motivational messages on social media.

J. Maddison wrote: "Honestly, your support last night at the stadium was unreal. Although we understand the seriousness of the situation, the guys will continue to fight. We really support our fan base."
