X. Alonso: 'R. Lavia finally had to play the full match'

The head coach of London’s Chelsea club, Xabi Alonso, commented on the desire to let defender Romeo Lavia play the full match:

"R. Lavia has such a psychological block about playing all 90 minutes.

Although the Belgian was tired, I let him play, I let him play..."

"We gave him the opportunity to play the full match and R. Lavia finished it exhausted, so I believe he is happy."

22-year-old Romeo Lavia has been playing for Chelsea since 2023 and has appeared in 43 matches.
