In the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, the Kaunas team will meet the champions of Kosovo, FC Drita from Gjilan.
If they succeed in overcoming the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, in the second round FK Kauno Žalgiris would face the winners of the pairing between the champions of the Faroe Islands, Klaksvik, and the champions of Luxembourg, Atert.
If they do not succeed in overcoming the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, the Žalgiris team will continue their journey in Europe in the UEFA Conference League qualifying. In the second qualifying round, FK Kauno Žalgiris would face the losers of the pairing between the champions of Malta, Floriana, and the champions of Ireland, Shamrock Rovers from Dublin.
The first matches of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League will be played on July 7-8 at the Dariaus and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas, and the return match on July 14-15 is expected to take place in Pristina, Kosovo.
The battles of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League are scheduled for July 21-22 and 28-29, while the matches of the second round of the UEFA Conference League will be played on July 23 and July 30.
