The picture of the knockout stage of the 2026 World Cup is starting to become clear.

After the matches played on Friday night, 9 out of 12 group battles have concluded. Teams such as Egypt and the Green Cape were able to make it to the next stage.

Currently, the following knockout pairs are clear:

Germany – Paraguay

France – Sweden

Canada – South Africa

The Netherlands – Morocco

USA – Bosnia and Herzegovina

Brazil – Japan

Côte d'Ivoire – Norway

Argentina – Green Cape

Australia – Egypt


These are 9 out of 16 pairs from the first knockout stage.

Spain is still awaiting its opponent, which will be the second team from Group J, potentially Algeria or Austria. Belgium and Switzerland are also still unsure of who they will face.
