The leaders of Madrid's Real are gnashing their teeth that they did not sign midfielder Rodri last summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, this decision is already considered one of the biggest mistakes the club has made in the player market in recent years.

The situation is further complicated for Real by the fact that the 30-year-old Spanish World Champion has become an extremely important part of Barcelona.

Rodri has significantly contributed to the excellent start of Hansi Flick's team this season – the Catalans have won all seven La Liga matches.

Meanwhile, the Madrid team still lacks a high-level midfielder this season, capable of playing a similar role to what Toni Kroos and Luka Modric once held.

After seven rounds, Barcelona leads the La Liga championship with 21 points, while Madrid's Real, with 15 points, is in fourth place.
