R. Lekiatas before the match in Jonava: 'Full stands – a bomb'

FK "Kauno Žalgirio" will face one of the most important matches of the season on Wednesday at the central stadium of Jonava city. Their significance – a guaranteed place in the main stage of one of the UEFA tournaments.

In the Faroe Islands, the Lithuanians played to a draw 0:0 against the champions of that country, "Klaksvik," which means everything will be decided right here in Lithuania.

On Monday, the players from Kaunas already held a training session at the Jonava city stadium, and after it, defender Rokas Lekiatas shared his insights.

"I wouldn't say that our preparation for the match is different from that for local championship games. We gathered after a few days off, had training sessions and video reviews. We analyzed our matches, what we did well, what we did poorly, and what we can improve. It's a weekly process," the player told zalgiris.lt.

After last week's away match, the "Kauno Žalgirio" footballers did not play in the TOPLYGA matches over the weekend and had a bit more time to prepare for the mentioned duel.

"There wasn't much time to train, as for a long time we had only recovery and pre-match training. In this case, we had a few extra days, the coach highlighted the principles we need to adhere to and what kind of football we need to play. We used those days tactically," said the defender of the Lithuanian national team.

At the Jonava city stadium, only a few tickets remain for the Wednesday match, so the game will be held in front of a full crowd.

"The conditions at the stadium are superb, everything is good. There’s nothing to complain about, especially when the stands will be full – it's going to be great," eagerly awaited R. Lekiatas for the duel.

According to the player from Kaunas, the style of "Klaksvik" is already familiar to the team; they just need to apply all their knowledge and skills against them.

"We hope there will be goals. We know their strategies and tendencies both in attack and defense. We analyzed and saw their leaders live, so we need to keep all that information in mind and use it in the match," concluded the footballer.

The match between FK "Kauno Žalgirio" and "Klaksvik" will be broadcast live on TV6 on Wednesday from 18:50.
