In the Netherlands – a bizarre goal and a great AZ comeback

There were some very interesting matches in the Eredivisie this weekend.

AZ overcame Groningen 4–3 after a comeback.

At one point, the Alkmaar side were trailing 1–3, and the third goal they conceded was particularly bizarre. Thom van Bergen scored after taking advantage of a disagreement between the opposing goalkeeper and defender.

Groningen then received two red cards, and everything was decided by Mexx Meerdink’s penalty.

Ajax drew 2–2 with Twente in another match.
