On Thursday, the outlines of the new Champions League season will be revealed.

The regular season draw ceremony will start at 19:00 Lithuanian time in Monaco.

36 teams will be divided into four pots of nine teams each based on their coefficient.

Each club will draw two opponents from each pot. Teams will play eight matches: four at home and four away.

The regular season will run from September 8 to January 27.

The top 8 teams will automatically qualify for the Round of 16. Teams finishing in 9th to 24th place will play two-legged knockout matches, with the winners of these ties taking the remaining eight spots in the knockout stage.

Regular season schedule:

  • Round 1: September 8–10, 2026.

  • Round 2: October 13–14, 2026.

  • Round 3: October 20–21, 2026.

  • Round 4: November 3–4, 2026.

  • Round 5: November 24–25, 2026.

  • Round 6: December 8–9, 2026.

  • Round 7: January 19–20, 2027.

  • Round 8: January 27, 2027.

Knockout stage:

  • First legs – February 16–17, 2027.

  • Second legs – February 23–24, 2027.

The final season draw will determine the matchups for the Round of 16 and the potential path teams will take towards the trophy.

  • Round of 16: March 9–10 (first legs) and March 16–17 (second legs)

  • Quarter-finals: April 6–7 (first legs) and April 13–14 (second legs)

  • Semi-finals: April 27–28 (first legs) and May 4–5 (second legs)

  • Final: June 5, 2027, Saturday, in Madrid.
