Last week, joining FK "Kauno Žalgiris," Haris Kadrić has already made his debut in the LFF Cup quarterfinal match against Vilnius BFA, where he showcased an active playing style and a decisive assist to Motiejus Burbas.
Having moved to Kaunas from the "Primorje" club, which played in the top league of Slovenia last season, the 26-year-old forward in his first interview in Kaunas emphasized that he only cares about victories in Lithuania.
"First of all – I am very happy to join the champion team that has high ambitions and fights for titles. In Kaunas, you have to win everything; the goals are high, and I won’t have problems adapting to this winners’ mentality. We will try to win the cup, the league, and reach the main stage of UEFA tournaments. As I said, the most important thing is the team, and if the team plays well – individual players shine. I want to help the team with good actions, but if the team is successful, everyone will be satisfied," the Slovenian told Žalgiris.lt.
Already at the beginning of July, FK "Kauno Žalgiris" will debut in the UEFA Champions League qualification at Darius and Girėnas Stadium against Džilanis "Drita."
"The UEFA Champions League is a tournament you dream of as a little child. Of course, it won't be easy, but I believe the team has a lot of quality. European matches provide experience and visibility, and everyone is waiting for that," the newcomer shared when talking about the upcoming European battles.
According to H. Kadrić, the team’s attacking style of play was probably the main reason he decided to join the Lithuanian champions.
"If the team’s ideas are attacking, with the goal of scoring more goals, that is good for a forward. I believe the team’s attacking play was the main reason I decided to come to Kaunas. The team comes first, but the forward is the one who has to finish the attacks, and I hope I can do that many times," reflected the Žalgiris player.
Choosing to wear the number 99 jersey in Kaunas, the footballer has already played not only in Slovenia but also in Serbia and Poland throughout his career.
"When you go abroad, you gain more experience, can meet more people, and see different playing styles. This allowed me to understand what awaits beyond Slovenia's borders. Now it helps me adapt, although each club and country has its own history," the forward mentioned regarding his experiences as a legionnaire.
The robust 188 cm tall forward claims that he is ready to adapt to the team's style of play and utilize his strengths.
"I would say that I am a tall and strong forward, playing well in the air. I like to finish attacks, be dangerous in the penalty area, and create threats. I am trying to get used to the coach's demands, but as I said, my main goal is to score goals and help the team," the FK "Kauno Žalgiris" member shared during the interview.
The next match for FK "Kauno Žalgiris" in the TOPLYGA championship will be on July 3 away against the players of Telšiai "Džiugas," and a few days later, they will face the already mentioned UEFA Champions League match against the champions of Kosovo in Kaunas.
