Calculated how much it cost countries to host the World Championship: Qatar far ahead of all

"SportsGully” revealed the costs of hosting the last six World Championships for the hosts.

This year marks the first championship since 2002 that is hosted by more than one country. The hosts are Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

It cost the current championship organizers 8 billion euros to host everything. This is one of the smallest numbers in the past 20 years.

Qatar, which built new stadiums for the championship, spent a staggering 220 billion dollars, making it the highest expenditure of all World Cup hosts in history.

Brazil and Russia also incurred quite expensive costs for hosting the championship.
