Kaunas Žalgiris faces Kosovo champions in UEFA Champions League qualifiers

"Kaunas Žalgiris" football club learned its future opponents in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League at a draw ceremony held in Switzerland on Tuesday.

In the debut season of the UEFA Champions League, the first opponent for the Lithuanian champions was the Kosovo champions Gjilan "Drita".

Having been the Kosovo champion for two consecutive years, "Drita" competed in the main tournament of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, reaching the knockout stage.

The first matches of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League are to be played on July 7-8 at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas, while the return match is expected to take place in Kosovo on the 14-15. Exact times and dates will be announced shortly, and ticket sales will commence thereafter.

On June 17, Wednesday, the draw for the second round of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds will again take place at the UEFA headquarters.
