On Wednesday, the UEFA Champions League semi-final stage battles continued.

In the first match of the series, Atlético in Madrid drew 1:1 with Arsenal from London.

At the beginning of the match, the Spaniards were more active in attack, but no goals were scored.

At the end of the half, it was the turn of Arsenal striker V. Gyokeres, who accurately converted a penalty awarded by the referee – 0:1.

After the break, Atlético aimed to equalize the score, but attempts from J. Alvarez and A. Lookman were unsuccessful.

Finally, the Madrid team managed to earn a penalty, which was scored by J. Alvarez in the 56th minute (1:1).

In the 81st minute, Arsenal nearly had another chance at the penalty spot, but after a VAR review, the referee overturned the decision.
