After the match, the captain of the French national team, Kylian Mbappé, admitted that his team did not show its best game in the semifinals.

"We made too many technical mistakes. Our performance did not meet the standards of a World Championship semifinal.

We did not adhere to the game plan, and without it, winning in the semifinals is incredibly difficult. Ultimately, we did not win. We did not do enough to deserve a place in the final.
