In Group G matches, drama could not be avoided.

Egypt drew 1:1 with the Iran national team.

Both goals came early - Mahmoud Saber scored in the 6th minute, putting Egypt ahead.

Ramin Raziei equalized in the 14th minute.

During added time, real drama unfolded. Shoja Khalilzadeh scored in a mix-up, pulled off his shirt, and began celebrating the advancement to the next stage with the Iran national team. However, VAR had other ideas.

VAR determined a minimal offside in the goal situation, as S. Khalilzadeh was closer to the goal than the goalkeeper.

Thus, the celebration came to Egypt's court, not Iran's. However, the Asian representatives still have a chance to advance to the knockout stages as one of the best third-placed teams, having drawn three times. This will be determined after tonight's matches.
