F. Wirtz: 'I am very happy to be the captain of the national team'

The Germany national team defeated Serbia 2:0 in the Nations League.

German midfielder Florian Wirtz did not hide his joy about being captain:

"I am very happy. I enjoyed it immensely.

Wearing the captain's armband is something special. It makes you proud.”

"We really wanted to play football, and that allowed us to shine.”

Florian Wirtz has been playing for the Germany national team since 2021 and has scored 12 goals in 47 matches.

He is in his second season with the "skauzers" squad.
