London's Tottenham and the Netherlands national team received bad news.

It has been revealed that Xavi Simons has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out of action for an extended period.

The 23-year-old player will not only miss the upcoming World Cup but also the start of the next season.

As journalist Fabrizio Romano reports, Simons will return to the field only in 2027.

The injury occurred during Saturday's match against Wolves.
