Liverpool's coach Arne Slot was very dissatisfied with this episode.

If the referee hadn’t awarded the penalty, VAR certainly wouldn’t change the decision, but I’ve seen more than one rather soft penalty awarded on the pitch, but VAR didn’t rescind it, as there was contact.
