M. Arteta: "We must focus on the people at Arsenal, not the surroundings" © scanpix

The head coach of London’s Arsenal club, Mikel Arteta, commented before the Champions League match on the complaints of the team’s forward Viktor Gyökeres regarding refereeing and the desire to draw attention to the club’s fans:

"After experiencing losses, I learned many lessons.

One of them is not to talk about external factors, as it can come back to haunt you.”

"The motivation is to give people who are with us what they deserve.

Not to others, as all energy must be focused on those close to us.”

London’s Arsenal club won their first match against Sporting with a score of 1:0.

They are in first place in the English championship with 70 points.
