In 2025, the football club "Kaunas Žalgiris," which won its first Lithuanian championship title in the club's history, will debut in the UEFA Champions League qualifying tournament this summer.
On Tuesday, June 16, the draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League will take place at the UEFA headquarters in Switzerland.
The draw ceremony in Nyon will start at 3:00 PM Lithuanian time, and "Kaunas Žalgiris" will face one of the 14 champion clubs from European countries:

On the day of the draw, UEFA will also categorize the participants of the first qualifying round into pots, thus the list of potential opponents will be further reduced before the draw.
The matches of the UEFA Champions League qualifying round will be played on July 7-8 and 14-15, with the match locations and times to be determined after the draw.
On June 17, Wednesday, the draw for the second round of both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds will take place in Switzerland again.
