The famous coach Jürgen Klopp criticized FIFA's decision to make player cooling breaks during World Cup matches.
According to him, this is done solely out of a desire to earn even more money.
"Football has become the hostage of leaders sitting in air-conditioned offices.
Now the breaks are a shield for player welfare, like a sword against the heat. However, it is nothing more than a gilded cage built for sponsors," the coach explained.
According to J. Klopp, the stoppages harm the rhythm of the matches and change the very essence of the sport.
"World Cup matches should flow like a river. Instead, we are building dams right in the middle, allowing advertisements to seep through them.
This is dangerous to the spirit of the game. Football used to be the main event, but now it risks becoming just background music for an advertising spectacle."
