Australians stunned the Turkish national team

The ambitious Turkey national team was unable to defend against the Australian attacks.

In the World Cup Group D match, the team coached by Vincenzo Montella lost 0:2 to the offensively strong opponents.

Australia delighted its fans already in the 27th minute when N. Irankunda scored (0:1).

European attempts to at least equalize the score kept hitting the opponents' defensive barriers, until finally in the 75th minute, C. Metcalfe doubled the score.

Interestingly, the Turks dominated the field both in terms of ball possession (70% to 30%) and shots on target (17 to 8).

The Turkey national team will try to rehabilitate itself in the match against Paraguay on June 20.
