The new Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso is already laying out tactical schemes for the upcoming season.

As reported by Diario AS, the specialist has some unpleasant news for defender Dani Carvajal, who has returned to the lineup after a serious injury.

This year, the 33-year-old veteran will have to get used to warming the bench, as X. Alonso will favor the Englishman Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The latter player is more versatile and, according to the strategist, can contribute more in the midfield or near the opponents' goal.

With D. Carvajal becoming the team captain this summer, he can only hope for playing minutes during the team's intensely packed season.
