The scandal-plagued Vilnius "Žalgiris" team is trying to win back fans to the stands.
In the upcoming A League match in Vilnius, the Žalgiris players will be guests, but with the help of partners, they aim to fill the stands green and white.
This Friday at 7:30 PM, the Vilnius derby will see "Žalgiris" face off against the "Riteriai" team.
This A League clash will take place at the "Žalgiris" home stadium, but this time "Žalgiris" will be the formal guest, as the match is organized and tickets are sold by the "Riteriai".
The head coach of the "Žalgiris" men's team, Rolandas Džiaukštas, who will be making his debut in this position in front of Vilnius fans, hopes that the stadium stands will be filled with "Žalgiris" supporters.
"We will be playing in our own field, this is where we train and prepare, but we would like the home walls to feel the strong support in the stands. Moreover, the upcoming match will be a rare opportunity for that, as after this we will play three times away, and our next match in Vilnius will only be at the end of October," said the coach.
Fans will be helped to fill the stands by the partner of this match – the cybersecurity company "AVEDUS", which is donating 1000 tickets to those arriving at the stadium.
Fans will be able to collect tickets starting from 6:45 PM at the South entrance of the "Žalgiris" home stadium (from Liepkalnio St.).
This campaign was also announced on social media by activist Andrius Tapinas, and it is supported by the fans' accounts.
