V. Venslovaitienė prepares to step down from 'Žalgiris' © E. Žaldario

The Vilnius "Žalgiris" club may soon experience significant changes.

On Wednesday morning, the most loyal club fans "Pietų IV" shared information about a possible forgery of documents by the club's manager Vilma Venslovaitienė.

The fans also released a statement claiming that they are not willing to discuss with the club while V. Venslovaitienė is in charge.

Moreover, the mayor of Vilnius, Valdas Benkunskas, also reacted to the situation, hinting at upcoming changes.

It seems that V. Venslovaitienė herself is preparing to take action, as she distributed a statement through her lawyer mentioning an attempt to sell the shares of the "Žalgiris" club.

"In response to the statement published today on the social network 'Facebook' by 'Pietų IV Ultras' and the attached text addressed to the 'Žalgiris' community, we inform you that the facts mentioned in it are inaccurate and do not reflect reality.

The individual who signed the appeal became a shareholder of the public institution football club 'Žalgiris' (at that time the name of the institution was different) only under the condition that he would sell his share to the person specified in the share purchase agreement in the future.

For this reason, it was agreed that this individual, unlike other shareholders, would not invest any funds into the institution, except for a symbolic contribution of 50 litas (now – 14.48 euros) for the purchased share of the institution.

In line with this agreement, the aforementioned individual signed and transferred a share purchase agreement to one of the club’s shareholders. This agreement regarding the conditions for granting shareholder status was known to the other shareholders of the institution.

In implementing the stated agreement, I bought a share of the institution from this individual and, in the presence of certain shareholders of the institution, handed him the sum of money specified in the purchase agreement. Nevertheless, the aforementioned individual refused to accept that money. All of this is documented in writing.
