UEFA has come up with a way to add even more excitement to its tournaments.

“Bild” reports that European football officials will introduce a strict rule in the draw for the Champions, Europa, and Conference Leagues – in the first stage of the competition, teams will not be allowed to face the same opponents as in the past two years.

UEFA hopes that this directive will bring even more charm and intrigue to the tournaments.

The new rule will take effect not this year, but from the start of the 2026/2027 season.
