Birmingham's Aston Villa club head coach Unai Emery commented on Jadon Sancho's performance and the desire to keep him in the team before the match against Brighton:

"We are not thinking about the end of the season – just about the present. We cannot talk about how we were in September. We enjoy the process and fight.”

"There will be a new challenge at the Birmingham stadium; we will strive to give our all and compete against a very strong team.”

"It is still unclear about J. Sancho's future. But he is a fantastic player. I hope he continues to perform like this and adds quality.”

"Of course, we want to extend the contract with this winger. That can happen because he is playing excellently and we want him.”

"But if J. Sancho plays as well as he can, then perhaps other teams will want him too.”

"This is football. Every match, this month, everything is very important for every player.”

25-year-old Jadon Sancho has scored a goal in 23 matches this season.

Last season, the Englishman was on loan to London's Chelsea team.
