Today it was revealed that the Spanish national team's jersey will no longer be worn by 31-year-old Atlético de Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.

The footballer announced that he has decided to retire from the national team.

"This is a personal decision, which I have thought through very carefully and which, most importantly, comes from the heart. It was an honor to represent my country,” said M. Llorente.

40-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina national team forward Edin Džeko also announced his retirement from the national team.

His last match is scheduled for October 2 at home against Sweden.

E. Džeko represented the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team a total of 151 times. He considers one of the most significant moments of his career to be the historic qualification of the country for the 2014 World Cup.

"Now I feel that the time has come to step back. If I reached 40 years with the national team, it means that I gave everything I had every time,” said E. Džeko.
