Tottenham's sporting director: De Zerbi was our first choice

After Roberto De Zerbi joined Tottenham, the club's sporting director Johan Lange, who has received considerable criticism, spoke publicly.

He said in an official statement: "Roberto was our first target for the upcoming summer, so we are very pleased to bring him in right now.

He is one of the most creative and intelligent coaches in the world of football, bringing with him a wealth of experience at the highest level, including the Premier League."

During the summer, Lange spoke about the first target Thomas Frank, who was also hired. However, the project did not succeed.

De Zerbi, upon joining Tottenham, said: "I am pleased to be joining this fantastic football club, where the work is among the largest and most prestigious in the world.
