"The Kaunas Žalgiris" futsal team received reinforcements in the middle of the season. With just a few regular season rounds left, the team was joined by three players from Brazil – Ewerton Florencio Da Silva, Daniel Mendonça Da Rosa, and David Edinaldo Dos Santos Silva.
35-year-old Ewerton Florencio has played in various futsal leagues throughout his career, representing clubs such as Kazakhstan's "Atyrau" and "Zhetysu," as well as teams in Brazil and Ukraine.
"My decision to join this team was influenced by the club's reputation and name in Europe. Also, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with the head coach Dentinho, whom I consider my authority. I really hope that during the season I will strengthen the team and help defend the country’s champion title as well as other trophies," shared Ewerton.
The next newcomer, 32-year-old Daniel Mendonça Da Rosa, has an impressive international experience. The player has worn the jerseys of clubs such as "Magnus Futsal," "Joinville," "Kairat," and Portugal's SC "Braga."
"I am very happy to have the opportunity to represent 'Kaunas Žalgiris,' as it is a club that grows every year and constantly competes in UEFA tournaments. My goal in the teams is always the same – to become a champion. We still have two trophies to fight for, and I will do my best to achieve that," said the team's newcomer Daniel.
The last addition to the team, 29-year-old David Edinaldo Dos Santos Silva, is a player who has competed in Brazilian futsal championships.
"My goal is to help my teammates and the club in the fight for the champion title. I came ready to work hard and give my all in every match," said David.
You will see all three players on the field on February 7 at the Kaunas SM "Startas" arena, where the Žalgiris team will compete against the "Kėdainiai United" team.
