Last week, football fans in the country saw a telling photo on social media – the director and coach of Vilnius "Žalgiris," Vladimir Cheburin, were spotted near a shopping center.

The couple was photographed in a family parking spot, loading purchases into their vehicle.

It seemed like confirmation of long-circulating rumors in the football world about the backstage affairs of Vilnius "Žalgiris," which were previously made public by Vilnius city council member Aleksandras Nemunaitis (link).

The most visited football portal in the country, "EuroFootball.lt," decided to contact the main sponsor of the capital's team, the Vilnius municipality, and ask if these relations would affect professional club decisions, for example, considering the dismissal of the coach due to extremely poor performance.

"Municipality funding is not determined by sports results in the current period, so we refrain from evaluating the situation," said Gabrielius Grubinskas, the media relations specialist at the Vilnius municipality.
