The 'Sūduva' club crushed Alytus 'Dainava'

The 12th round of the "TOPsport A League" started at the Alytus city stadium. In a rainy and emotional match, the Suduva team defeated the DFK "Dainava" team, which was left with fewer players, with a score of 3:0 (1:0).

Less than 10 minutes into the game, the attacking players from Marijampolė combined a great attack, but Franklin Tangiri failed to hit the ball appropriately. The Alytus team responded with an attack – Artiomas Baftalovkis shot straight at the goalkeeper Ignas Plūkas.

With the rain pouring down, the Suduva players were more active – twice, the debuting Lucky Tomas from the starting lineup found himself at the attack's forefront, but both of his shots were blocked by defenders.

The match remained calm until the 42nd minute when Davoras Rakičius received a red card for a violent action. The best chance was had by the "Sūduva" players – after Linas Zinger's pass, L. Tomas shot, but Airidas Mickevičius brilliantly saved the team.

During the referee's added time, "Dainava's" problems did not end – a set piece concluded with F. Tangiri's accurate shot, which put the visiting team ahead.

After the break, as expected, the Marijampolė team controlled the ball more and was close to the second goal. N. Petkevičius's shot was saved by Airidas Mickevičius, while Linas Zinger's powerful shot shook the goalpost.

The score in the match was settled by L. Tomas, who scored with a header after Amadou Sabo's assist. N. Petkevičius added the third goal for Suduva by converting a penalty kick.

In the fifth consecutive match without losing to the opponents, the "Sūduva" players remain at the top of the championship with 24 points, while Dainava has only 2 points and is at the bottom of the tournament table.
