In the 2026 World Cup, 32 out of 48 participants are already clear. After Sunday’s matches, Norway and Portugal secured their spots among the elite, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo moved one step closer.
During this international window, three teams will qualify for the tournament through the North and Central American (CONCACAF) system, and an additional seven teams from UEFA will also know their fate.
In March, there will be an intercontinental playoff and an additional UEFA qualifying round. After that, all 48 teams will be known, and the draw will take place.
The World Cup will be held in Mexico, Canada, and the USA from June 11 to July 19.
