This week, the Indian media reported that the leaders of the country's football federation had to debate significantly while selecting the new national team coach.

It was claimed that well-known specialists were simply flooding the email inbox with applications without pause.

According to the press, in the battle for the prestigious position among 170 candidates, the name of the legendary Xavi was mentioned, who later did not make it into the final shortlist.

However, it has now become clear that this was a lie.

The Indians had received a fraudulent letter, which attempted to manipulate by mentioning not only Xavi but also the name of Josep Guardiola.

Initially, the Indian federation did not want to admit its mistake and believed that the publicly mentioned famous coaches would grant them more prestige. However, eventually, the deception was uncovered when Xavi's desire to become the Indian coach began to be denied by individuals associated with the coach.
